UNSUNG SARILING BAYANI: SHORT FILM COMPETITION OF THE FILM DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL OF THE PHILIPPINES

The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) will launch the Unsung Sariling Bayani (USB): Short Film Competition, which focuses on lesser-known Filipino heroes. Its leading proponent Kidlat Tahimik, National Artist for Film and Broadcast, aims to influence the cinematic movement for the youth.

The movement seeks to balance the influence of foreign superheroes from Marvel and DC in the Filipino youth’s mindset with a compelling engagement with the glorious stories of Filipino heroes.

The USB: Short Film Competition is open to all Filipinos and will have the following categories:

1. Youth Category for Junior High School (JHS) Student from Public School,
2. Youth Category for JHS Student from Private School,
3. Youth Category for Senior High School (SHS) Student from Public School,
4. Youth Category for SHS Student from Private School, and
5. Adult Category for ages 18 and above.

Entries must be submitted on or before 11:59 p.m. on October 11, 2021, which is also the celebration of the Indigenous Peoples Day
