Cavite Governor voiced out his concern regarding lack of funds for blended learning

Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla stated on Monday his concerns regarding the province lack of fund to implement Department of Education’s (DepEd) plan of blended learning.

Cavites budget for the year is only amounts to P4.7 billion while the needed fund for implementing the blended learning is P5 billion to accomodate its 600,000 learners.

“Ayon rin sa plano, ang DepEd National ay walang contribution para dito at ito ay 100% na papasanin ng LGU (local government unit),” Remulla captioned on his Facebook post intended for Education Secretary Leonor Briones.

With the said budget of the province, P1 billion was already expend to accommodate the crisis caused by the pandemic while P2.1 billion is allocated for the salaries of the workers of the local government and its operations. P1 billion is also allocated for hospitals.

“Sa Cavite pa lamang po ito. Paano pa po ang malalayo na lalawigan at syudad na mas menos ang kakayahan?” the governor added.

Remulla clarified, Cavite will still present Educational Plan this week as “local solution to a NATIONAL problem.”
