83.18 percent of target learners have enrolled for the incoming school year, according to a data from the Department of Education (DepEd).
As of Wednesday, DepEd reported that 23 117 793 learners have already enrolled in private and public schools nationwide out of the targeted 27 770 263 learners who enrolled in the previous school year.
Region 4-A (Calabarzon) recorded the highest amount of enrollees with 2 907 480, while the Cordillera region registered the lowest with 347 755.

As of Tuesday, there are 394 479 private school students who transferred to public school.
Among the transferees, mostly are elementary students with a count of 240 784, some 105 679 are junior high school students, 41 630 are senior high school students and 6 386 are learners with disabilities.
Students that are taking the alternative system, with disabilities, and learners from kindergarten to senior high school are among the enrollees.
The start of classes will be on August 24.
